What is the detox program? Why do we need to detox program?
You may have heard the word "detox" used more and more often over the past decade or so, but what exactly is detoxification?
Our bodies have the ability to break down alcohol, drugs, various chemicals, hormones, and metabolic waste products of the body and eliminate them from the body. Most detoxification takes place in the liver, from where toxins are eliminated through the kidneys into the urine and through the intestines into the stool. Detox programs promote the detoxification and elimination functions of the liver and kidneys.
Why do we need to detox program?
Why is it important to detoxify the body when the human body has an already existing detoxification function? There are five major reasons.
1, Environmental Pollution
As we all know, our environment has become increasingly polluted over the past several decades. It is estimated that more than 10 million tons of chemicals are emitted from factories around the world every year, and the number of pollutants is increasing every year. The polluted air and water released around the world are then carried by air and ocean currents and spread throughout the world.
2, Polluted Food
Processed foods contain large amounts of preservatives and food additives. American meat products are treated with high doses of hormones and antibiotics during the growing process, and all manner of methods are used in chicken production, including adding arsenic to the feed to speed up growth. Farmed fish are raised in small cages and are treated with antibiotics. Large wild caught tuna and swordfish are loaded with heavy metals such as mercury. Vegetables are also heavily treated with pesticides, and preservatives are used during transportation from other countries.
3, Cosmetics and Household Products
Women who use cosmetics tend to be exposed to more chemicals than men, and chemicals accumulate in the body daily through the products they use every day: detergents, soaps, shampoos, conditioners, basic cosmetics, makeup, sunscreen, antiperspirants, perfumes, and deodorant sprays.
4, Poor Detoxification
The body's detoxification function requires adequate vitamins and minerals. However, in addition to not getting enough nutrients in the modern diet, most people consume large amounts of sugar and fat. As nutrients are used to process these large amounts of sugar and fat, adequate detoxification does not take place.
5, Toxin Accumulation
When various chemicals enter the body and exceed the detoxification capacity or when the ability of the body to detoxify is impaired, chemicals gradually accumulate in the body. Once these chemicals and heavy metals accumulate in the body, they are difficult to eliminate. And if left unchecked, the body and mind can end up in a state of serious damage.
